Academy highlights Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘best entrance scene’ on his birthday, makes Karan Johar ‘smile’; Can you guess?

As Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan turns 59, the celebrations go beyond his fan base. In a special tribute, the Academy shared a memorable clip from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which featured her unforgettable entry scene and sparked debate on whether it is her most iconic scene. Responding to this, Karan Johar expressed happiness and said that this recognition brought a ‘big smile’ on his face.

The official Instagram of the Academy celebrated Shahrukh Khan’s birthday with a throwback to his iconic entry scene in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Set during Diwali in the Raichand mansion, the scene unfolds when Rahul Raichand, played by Khan, arrives in a black helicopter.

His mother, Nandini (Jaya Bachchan) instinctively senses his presence as she prepares to welcome her husband Yash Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan) with an aarti thali. She hesitates, her intuition guiding her as she turns to see Rahul approaching. Dressed in black, Shahrukh’s character has a warm conversation with his mother and asks how she always knows when she is close.

Nandini, overwhelmed with emotion, blesses him with a tilak and a loving touch. With the line “A mother’s intuition is always right”, the Academy sparked fan debate by asking, “Is this SRK’s best entry scene?”
