A Thane man had a surprising experience on a Tinder date when he reportedly received a staggering bill of Rs 44,000 at a restaurant. The incident was shared by his friend on Reddit. He warned others about the potential “Tinder scam” and posted a picture of the bill. According to the bill, the man’s date ordered a large number of items, including 18 Jagerbombs, two Red Bulls, French fries, salted peanuts, four chocolate truffle cakes and a special mix, making the total bill Rs 44,829. The Reddit user also claimed that his friend reported the incident to the police, resulting in the amount being reduced by only Rs 4,000, leaving him with a still hefty bill of Rs 40,000.
The post read, “Guys be careful. Tinder scam. Posting a restaurant bill for taking one of my friends on a date with a girl… Hotel name: Hotel De Grandeur, Royal Plaza Building, Bhakti Park, Anand Nagar, Thane.”
