
India and Thailand on Thursday agreed to raise bilateral relations for a strategic partnership during widespread discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Thailand’s PM Patongtern Shinavatra at the government house in Bangkok.
The two leaders interacted on various fields of bilateral cooperation and later signed several major agreements, which for a long -standing friendship between the two countries add new strength and dynamics.
In addition to the joint announcement on the establishment of the strategic partnership of India-Thailand, an MoU was also signed between Thailand’s Digital Economy and Society of Thailand and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
An MoU was signed for the development of the ports of India’s ports, shipping and waterways and the Sagarmala Division of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Culture, for the development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal, Gurat.
Another MoU was signed in cooperation between the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) of India and the promotion of small and medium enterprises in Thailand.
Between the North Eastern Region and the Ministry of Development of the Ministry of External Affairs of Thailand and the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) (NEHDC) of the Government of Thailand, the North Eastern Region (MDONER) and the Ministry of Foreign Development of Thailand have been signed by two other major MUS.
In his comment, PM Modi highlighted that India’s ‘Act pre -‘ policy and Thailand’s ‘Act West’ complements one other well and opens bilateral cooperation opportunities in many fields.
“We have emphasized cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture and education between Thailand and the north-eastern states of India. We have discussed growing mutual trade, investment and business exchange. It has also been entered into agreements to promote cooperation in areas of MSME, handcuffs and handwritten,” PM Modi said that during a joint press statement with the director.
He said, “We have decided to strengthen cooperation in renewable energy, digital technology, e-marriages, robotics, space, biotechnology and start-up. Apart from increasing physical connectivity, both countries will work to promote Fintech connectivity,” he said.
The Prime Minister said the talks focus on ways to deepen the Indo-Iteland strategic partnership, including areas in strategic areas such as defense, security, maritime security and hydrography.
PM Modi said, “We reiterated our commitment to work together to overcome the challenges of terrorism, money laundering and more.”
During the discussion, Prime Minister Modi expressed solidarity with the people of Thailand after an earthquake a few days ago.
PM Modi also mentioned that India fully supports ASEAN unity and ASEAN centrality.
PM Modi said, “In Indo-Pacific, we both support free, open, inclusive and rules-based orders. We believe in the policy of development, not expansionism.”
