He was cheated and smuggled to cyber-hosted centers in Laos’s Bokeo province. 67 Indians, who were in the middle of a smuggling racket and were victims of misconduct and criminal intimidation, are rescued by the Indian Embassy in Laos.
The Indian Embassy in the South Asian country stated that they received “requests” from the victims and “immediately responded to all the necessary assistance”. The network was operating from the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone (GTSEZ) in Laos.
“A team of embassy officials immediately traveled to GTSEZ and worked with the concerned Lao officials to complete the necessary procedures and paperwork so that they could leave GTSEZ and travel to the embassy in Viantiyane. Till their transportation facility was also provided. The Indian Embassy said, their housing and food have been arranged by the embassy.

Indian Ambassador to Laos Prashant Aggarwal met 67 Indians rescued and discussed the challenges faced by them. Mr. Aggarwal assured his full security and full support of the embassy “as the highest priority” for his safe return to India.
The India Office in Viantiyane, the capital of Laos, is working closely with the officials concerned to complete the exit formalities of the currently rescued Indians, after which they will be able to return home.
The embassy said, “We thank Laos officials for their cooperation. We have also requested action against dishonest elements on their behalf and the matter has been raised at the highest level.”
The embassy in Laos has so far saved 924 Indians, out of which 857 have already returned home safely.
“Indian youth who were promised to give jobs in Thailand, but on reaching there, they were asked to travel by road to Chiang Rai near Thai-Lao Border, they are cautioned that this is a sure sign That they are being smuggled into GTSEs. Is, which is a threat to their exploitation, “said the Indian Embassy.
