Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex was down 194.52 points or 0.25 percent, and the NSE Nifty was down 63.95 points or 0.26 percent.
Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd said, “Markets ended the week marginally lower amid renewed geopolitical tensions in West Asia and sharp rise in crude oil prices.
Markets started the week on a positive note, supported by easing crude prices, encouraging Q1 business updates, improved monsoon progress and broad-based buying, he said.
However, sentiment weakened mid-week following the escalation of Iran-US tensions, which led to a sharp sell-off before the benchmark indices recovered a significant portion of the losses in the final two sessions, Mishra added.
Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), while ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro and Hindustan Unilever jointly received Rs. 934 crore was faced with erosion.
The market valuation of HDFC Bank is Rs. 35,808.09 crore increased to Rs. 12,69,454.42 crore, which is the highest among the top-10 companies.
Bharti Airtel is valued at Rs. 34,896.92 crore increased to Rs. 11,98,774.22 crores.
LIC has paid Rs. 16,065.5 crore added, and its valuation at Rs. 5,60,205.05 crore, while Reliance Industries was valued at Rs. 6,224.97 crore to Rs. 17,71,206.33 crores.
However, Hindustan Unilever’s market capitalization (mcap) is Rs. 12,088.65 crore reduced to Rs. 5,04,997.65 crores.
Larsen & Toubro is valued at Rs. 11,040.23 crore reduced to Rs. 5,42,938.40 crores.
TCS’s mcap is Rs. 8,574.87 crores down to Rs. 7,48,600.40 crore and Bajaj Finance Rs. 7,813.58 crore reduced to Rs. 6,35,327.78 crores.
ICICI Bank’s mcap is Rs. 6,315.32 crore reduced to Rs. 10,05,379.71 crore, while State Bank of India was valued at Rs. 3,461.48 crores down to Rs. 9,56,430.44 crores.
Reliance Industries retained the title of most valuable firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, TCS, Bajaj Finance, LIC, Larsen & Toubro and Hindustan Unilever.
