“After following up on some leads, we learned that the increase in cases of missing girls in Delhi is being publicized through propaganda. Creating panic for monetary gain will not be tolerated and we will take strict action against such persons,” Delhi Police said in a post on Twitter.

“The claim that ‘so many children have gone missing from Delhi’ is being spread through a paid campaign to promote a Hindi film. Delhi Police will clearly pursue this to its logical conclusion,” BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said in a post on Twitter.
