One of India’s most popular rappers and singers Yo Yo Honey Singh has opened up about his widely talked about divorce from Shalini Talwar. In a recent interview, the Lungi Dance singer admitted that the divorce did not affect him emotionally and said, “I was on medication and I was fine after that”. The couple officially separated in November 2023 after reaching a mutual agreement in a Delhi court.
Speaking about his divorce with Mashable India, Singh revealed that the separation did not affect him emotionally. “It didn’t affect me at all,” he said. The rapper said that everything happened “all of a sudden” and revealed that after their separation, his health started getting better.
Singh said he started feeling better after the divorce, adding that he needed less medication and no longer experienced any symptoms. “After my separation, I started getting better, and my medication has been reduced after that.”
He compared the experience to seeing the world anew after seven years. The rapper declined to provide further details about the breakup, citing an agreement with his ex-wife under which they cannot speak publicly about each other.
In the same interview, the Chaar Bottle Vodka singer spoke about his close friendship with actress Sonakshi Sinha. He recalled that while they were shooting in Los Angeles, they had a long conversation about marriage. At that time, he was facing difficulties in his marriage and he had poured out his heart to Sonakshi.
Sonakshi shared her thoughts on the true meaning of marriage despite not being married at that time. Singh praised her maturity, saying that even at a young age she had a deep understanding of relationships. He said that when she got married, he remembered their conversations and he felt really happy for her.
