Xiaomi has finally introduced its new software update HyperOS 2.0 to the world. Following the launch of its predecessor in October 2023, the new OS is designed to streamline the Xiaomi-verse even further. Built on Xiaomi’s HyperCore system, this new OS prioritizes performance and visuals using a heterogeneous computing approach for faster task processing and smoother graphics, which is especially beneficial for gaming and media consumption. Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0: release date
Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 is scheduled to debut for smartphones in November 2024, initially focusing on the Chinese market. Although the specific devices slated for this update have not been confirmed, users can expect improvements that will improve performance, connectivity, and overall user experience across compatible devices.
In November 2024, Xiaomi will start rolling out the HyperOS 2.0 update for several devices, including the Xiaomi 14 series, Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Xiaomi Mix Flip, Redmi K70 lineup, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12. In December, the update will continue to roll out for devices like Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, Redmi K60 series, Redmi Turbo 3, Redmi Note 14 series, Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14, Pad 6 Pro and Redmi Note 8 Pro. By the first quarter of 2025, the update will extend to older models, including the Xiaomi 12S and the entire Xiaomi 12 series, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, and several Redmi devices such as the K50 lineup and the Note series.
This phased approach ensures that a wide range of Xiaomi devices will benefit from the new features and improvements associated with HyperOS 2.0, focused on improved performance, connectivity and user experience across the entire ecosystem.

Features of Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0
Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 introduces three core core technologies: HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI. HyperCore is a self-developed kernel technology platform that uses a new dynamic memory system with Storage 2.0, which has a proprietary microarchitecture scheduler that can reduce CPU idle time by up to 19 percent. This results in up to 54.9 percent faster app launch speeds on smartphones.
The update also includes significant visual enhancements, including a redesigned desktop layout with more customization options, smoother transitions enhanced by dynamic effects, and 3D real-time weather simulation. HyperConnect aims to improve connectivity within the Xiaomi ecosystem, allowing dual-camera streaming between smartphones and tablets. Additionally, the introduction of Xiaomi Interconnectivity Services enables seamless access to files and photos across Xiaomi devices, similar to the functionalities introduced by Apple.
A major highlight of HyperOS 2 is the wide range of AI features included in the HyperAI suite. It includes personalized lock screen wallpapers, text generation and summarization tools, speaker identification during calls, and transcription for recording. It also has an AI magic painting tool that enhances and revives images. Additionally, the OS integrates a system designed to protect users from deepfake fraud, demonstrating Xiaomi’s commitment to user security and innovation.
