Xiaomi follows its record-setting Q1 with similar strong Q2 results this year. The total revenue for the Xiaomi group reached a record high level of CNY 116 billion, which is a 30.5% increase compared to the second quarter last year. The smartphone business remains the largest segment of Xiaomi, followed by IOTs and Lifestyle Products, but joint smart EV, AI and other new initiatives are growing quickly.
Impressively, this is the fifth consecutive quarter of a year-by-year of over 30%. This is the third consecutive quarter with revenue of more than CNY 100 billion. From all this, the adjusted net profit was CNY 10.8 billion (+75.4% yoy).
Let’s take a close look at the smartphone business. Xiaomi is the third largest company in terms of shipment with 42.4 million units sent to Q2 (+0.2% YOY). It is close to Apple’s performance for a quarter of 44.8 million (-1.8% yoy).
Breaking it by the region, Xiaomi is #1 in Southeast Asia, #2 in Europe, Middle East and #3 in Latin America and Africa. In the mainland China, it is #4 in terms of shipment based on data by Canalis.
In monetary terms, Xiaomi’s Revenue of the smartphone for Q2 2025 was CNY 45.5 billion, which was 2.1% yoy. Xiaomi is expanding its retail network. Sticking with EVS for a moment, Q2 had 335 stores in 92 cities in the mainland China. For all its products, China now has more than 17,000 stores and about 200 retail stores abroad.
It is not just phone and car, Xiaomi just sells everything. The air conditioner posted an impressive YOY growth of more than 60% in Q2, with more than 5.4 million units sent. The washing machine sent 600,000+ units to an increase of more than 45% yoy. The refrigerators increased over 25% Yoy 790,000+ units.
Entering the new segment can be expensive-Xiaomi’s smart EV, AI and other new initiatives are losing money for now, but in the last few quarters the operating loss near the break-even point. This year was CNY 0.5 billion in Q1 and CNY fell to 0.3 billion in Q2.
Xiaomi is promoting its R&D expenses – it increased by 41.2% yoy in Q2 and is expected to reach CNY 30 billion this year. It covers things like developing its new chipset, working on exercising O1, Tech, AI and more for its EVS.
