One of our readers wrote to us that his Xiaomi 17 has received the Android 17 update. Confusingly, Xiaomi calls it HyperOS 3, which is the same HyperOS version as the Android 16-based software, but it is one of the first phones to get stable Android 17.
The Pixel series up to Pixel 6 received stable Android 17 in mid-June. Other manufacturers are still in beta.
Anyway, this particular reader is from India and has received the firmware with OS version 3.0.331.0.XPCINXM.C10 and the June 5 security patch. That said, we’ve heard that the rollout is happening in Europe and other markets as well.

Xiaomi Mi 17 is being updated to Android 17 (Thanks for sending this!)
Of course, Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also getting the same update. Interestingly, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is getting the flagship treatment and is also getting an upgrade to version 17. However, its brother, the Xiaomi 17T, is not – if you have a vanilla 17T that has already been updated to Android 17, let us know!
According to our reader, the update presented itself as a simple security patch, though the hefty 7.2GB download size made that claim questionable — in fact, it included a new Android version, even though the HyperOS version is technically the same.
So, if your Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra or 17T Pro has been bugging you about security patches, check this out – you can be one of the first to try out the latest Android version.
