ET now: What do you do with the transposed in the oval of Office Fissure last night? Many foreign policy experts say this is unprecedented, but it was not surprising to see Donald Trump in the context of Russia and especially the Ukrainian leader, the kind of statements that have been given in the past.
Manoj Joshi: Well, in a nutshell, it is a defeat for both the United States and Ukraine, that is, the United States should not underestimate the results of this conversation, which was unprecedented between the President of the United States and the other president, and all those, which meant in front of the television camera. Therefore, we have seen the explosion, but the result is yet to be clear. But nevertheless, it is a very serious development and I don’t think the only person who celebrates will be Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
ET now: But when you mentioned that there will be rituals, the overall rituals are not yet out. But what you are expecting will be ahead because what we understand is that Marco Rubio has apologized to Zelensky. A White House spokesman has also imposed Zelensky and said that Zelensky has refused to identify the practical reality of this war. So, what happens next?
Manoj Joshi: Well, Zelensky, not surprisingly, went on to think that he was talking to a Ukrainian partner, that is, there is a country here, the United States was Ukraine’s ally. It has supported the Ukrainians with financial support. But on the other hand, when he went to the meeting, what did he get? He saw that you had a very adverse environment. In particular, there was a special hostility from the Vice President of the United States. In their X account, Vice President looks virtually, JD Vens, virtually determining the field for Ukrainian surrender, that is, no exemption has been given by Vladimir Putin yet, while all demands have been placed on Ukraine.
Now, for Ukraine, this is definitely a shock, because here we are talking about a country that was associated with them. And this whole business that we have given you a lot of help, we have given you, so you have to pay us. It makes the whole thing somewhat supported. The point is a lot of help and this is what I want to point out, provided many American assistance given to Ukraine in the form of products produced by US companies. Therefore, a lot of money is back to the US. And, of course, Mr. Trump made a ridiculous statement that the US had given billion $ 350 billion in assistance. Indeed, they have provided billion $ 100 billion. Therefore, the whole thing, the tidy liar, trying to raise Mr. Zelensky at the White House meeting, has left a very bad taste. And the role of Mr. JD Vens in all of this is very questionable.
ET now: But there are reports that indicate that the Trump administration is planning to end all the shipment of military aid to Ukraine after that meeting. The world has already been under the war against inflation and supply chain fronts. So, if this happens, this is not good for Ukraine or related stakeholders, but for anyone in the world, as it only increases inflation.
Manoj Joshi: Certainly. Earth now we are just looking at the first stages of Mr. Trump’s economic outlook towards the world. Yesterday, it has announced a full set of new tariffs. The reciprocal tariff system is yet to come. I think it will come in April. And so, yes, the world is definitely looking at geographical political disaster and economic disaster. There is no doubt about that. And yet, Mr. Trump seems to have some kind of restraint. And I definitely hope that there will be some cold heads, that they will at least solve this issue, the issue of Ukraine, by some background, by backchannel diplomacy, and the situation that will definitely not good for the West. It’s not good for Europe. It is the US Not good for. It’s definitely not good for Ukraine. As far as the tariff concerns, it is yet to be played because the setting of the tariff is still pending. And the worst consequences will be there, it will appear in the future.
ET now: And you brought out two very important words, it is a disaster and diplomacy. So, let me combine these words and ask you a final question. Is there more disasters on Aran in the context of the United States’s foreign policy, and what does this really say about the United States’s approach to his foreign policy and, how will he handle diplomacy and its connections worldwide?
Manoj Joshi: Well, inevitably, what has been happening so far is that the Trump administration is the after the Cold War U.S. Turning the policy inside. The post -cold war policy of the United States was based on two parts of Eurasia in their control, which is on one side of Japan, South Korea and on the other hand Western Europe. Now, Mr. Trump is Russia and China, which reaches Eurasia’s heartland. Again, China is a unknown factor because Trump has not yet begun to see the Asian policy. So, in the future, we can still see some shocks, especially in India if Trump tries to reach China the way he does with Mr. Putin, if there is a deal, if there is a China-US deal, it can have serious consequences for us.
