With AI coding, people with creativity and problem-solving skills will stand out: Perplexity CEO
Arvind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, says that with writing a code to AI, people who are creative have clarity of the skills and ideas to solve the problem, will exclude the rest.
Listen to the story

Artificial Intelligence (AI) model coding from engineers is one of the most common use cases we discuss. This often occurs after the question whether AI will replace coders. After all, if AI can handle the basics, companies may not need to pay the same thing to human engineers (read: want). Instead, they would like to hire someone who is able to do more than AI. But what is it really “more”? Perplexity CEO is the answer to Arvind Srinivas.
Srinivas says that with writing the code to AI, you are like the “creator of the code”. “You no longer need to type everything yourself. That’s why people with taste, clarity and problem-solving skills will actually shine in this new era.” Arvind Srinivas said this in an interview with Hakrenak CEO Vivek Ravisankar.
He gives an example of this. He recalls the scene of the film Jobs where Steve Wozniaq is upset with Steve Jobs, as he says that he is the same who created Apple I and II computers. On the other hand, jobs, do not even know how to write code, or design. But everyone knows who is Steve Jobs, but no one knows who is Wozniaq. Jobs says this is because I play the orchestra. This is why Srinivas thinks that there will be a relationship between AI and Kodar. “I think it’s going to be a thing fast,” they say. “Fluid, intelligent, problem-constant, who are creative, they will be the ones that exclude the rest”.
Essentially, Perplexity CEO Arvind Srinivas believes that AI will change how coding works, but it will not replace creative problems-condolences. Since AI can handle basic coding tasks, companies will no longer need engineers for regular work. Instead, they will look for people who can seriously think, solve complex problems, and bring new ideas – things AI cannot do good. Therefore, in a world where AI codes writes, the most valuable professionals will be those who can use AI as a tool, while thinking beyond it. In short, creativity and problem-solution skills will set top engineers separate from the rest.
The feeling was echoed in a recent statement in a statement by the CEO of Amjad Massad. They believe that now when AI can write code, people have a waste of time to learn the code. Instead, people should work on their basic principles. “A year ago I would have asked to learn a little coding. But now I would say, learn how to think, how to break up problems. Breaking problems.
Tech leaders are rapidly predicting the future tendency where the codes will be mainly written by AI. Anthropic founder and CEO Dario Amodi recently predicted that all code will be generated by AI by the end of the year. By the end of 2025, AI will be responsible for generating 90 to 100 percent of all code. It is in line with people’s statements like Google CEO Sundar Pichai and OpenAII CEO Sam Altman.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Chief Scientist Jeff Dean have revealed that AI already writes 25 percent of all codes for the company. Dean also says that Google has already trained a Gemini model on its internal codebase to help developers in the company. On the other hand, Openai CEO Sam Altman claims that AI now handles more than 50 percent coding operations in many companies. While suggesting Srinivas and Masad, Ultman also underlined the importance of adopting the AI-operated workflows, suggesting that cooperation with AI would be important to be competitive in the changing job market.
