Will Smith is ready for his much awaited return to his music roots. His first full-length album in twenty years, Friday, March 28, is based on a true story drops.
The 14-track record has a stellar list of collaboration, including his long-time friend and music colleague DJ Jaizi Jeff. Smith gave his first indication to the withdrawal of music in January when he dropped his single beautiful mark with the help of Big Scene and Obanga.
Smith announced on Instagram, “This is official !! My new album on a true story falls on March 28. He also shared the album cover on the post.
Smith recently worked closely with Tatyana Ali and Dochi to participate in the viral worry dance challenge. Challenged is a gesture for dance steps that he infamous on the popular Sutcom the Fresh Prince of Bell-Air. Smith appreciated the video with the caption, “waited 35 years for the trend for this dance.”
Given the creation of the album, Smith first called the project his most intimate and strongest task. In an interview in May 2024, he said that the process exceeded one and a half years. As a result, there was music that firmly resonated with its journey and experiences.
The Bad Boys actor said additional, “You know, I am in the last year and a year and a half, I have been in the lab. I have a project that you know, without question, without question, the most personal and powerful music that I have ever made … So, you know, I am going on you in a month.”
His last album title, Lost & Found, Arrived in March 2005.
