Prince Harry lost his last bid to restore the state-informed security in the UK. Duke claimed that security was wrongly removed after stepping into an active working royal and moved to the United States with his wife Meghan Markle and his children, Archie and Lilybate.
According to People Magazine, on Friday, May 2, Judge Sir Geoffrey Vose rejected the appeal. The outlet also reported that two other judges agreed to the decision. Vose ruled that Duke was no longer a working royal and was living abroad.
Therefore, he was no longer in a group of individuals to provide automatically protection to Ravic on day-to-day basis. “Outside Britain, he was outside Kohrt,” said Vose’s decision.
However, while living in the UK, Duke and his family will be provided protection on the basis of circumstances. “It was impossible, I said in my judgment, to say that this argument was irrational or unfair. In fact, it seemed sensible,” Vose, according to the outlet, gave the verdict.
Harry flew back from California to her country to attend a two -day hearing at the Royal Court of Justice in London on 8 and 9 April. He has been fighting for years to restore the state-funded security during his visits to the UK.
Talking to the outlet, he admitted to being “tired and overwhelmed” throughout the process. His legal team has described the legal battle as a fight for his life. In February 2024, Harry lost an initial case against Ravic to downed his security in the United Kingdom.
The Duke of Sussex admitted that his “worst fear” was confirmed. He also said that his family’s future depended on the decision. He said, “It always matters the most.”
Harry had allegedly expected the help of his father, King Charles, who heads the state ceremony. However, a source close to the Palace confirmed that there is still a distance between father and son. The source said, “I don’t think there is any coordination. Nothing has changed.”
