Shah Rukh Khan is once again in the headlines- not due to any upcoming blockbuster, but because of his prestigious Mumbai house vow. According to reports, the King of Bollywood is going to get a refund from the state of Maharashtra after a petition filed by him and his wife Gauri Khan.
According to the Hindustan Times report, the Celebrity couple filed a petition to seek a refund of about Rs 9 crore. This amount reportedly represents more payment made to the collector of Mumbai suburban district (MSD) for the land, on which his residence, Mannat is located.
Explaining in detail, Times Now says that the assets of 2,446 square meters are registered in the name of both Shahrukh and Gauri Khan. Before transferring property to the mines, the state government imposed a fee called “unarmed income”. This fee was calculated based on the market price and ready records of property.
Subsequently, Khan opted to convert property into freehold property (class 1) by the state government – originally his previous owner – under the policy of the state government – under the policy of the state government.
In March 2019, Shahrukh Khan It was necessary to pay 25 percent of the ready records price, which was about Rs 27.50 crore set under the policy at that time.
However, reports later revealed that there was an “unknown error” during the assessment of the property. In the calculation, the value of the bungalow was taken into consideration instead of the value of the land.
On finding out this mistake, Gauri Khan presented a formal request to the Collector and demanded a return of Rs 9 crore.
