Gurgaon is one of the most vibrant and fast-growing centers in Delhi-NCR. Over the past year, it has become a culinary hotspot. With its rapidly evolving food scene, the city has seen an influx of new restaurants, cafés and tailor-made venues that cater to a mix of different tastes. From global flavors to experiential dining, Gurgaon’s bustling energy is reflected in its ever-expanding gastronomic landscape. Amidst this, one place that is really famous for its aesthetic ambiance and delicious food is Cova – The Cavern. Located in Sector 43 of the city, if you want Mediterranean and Asian cuisine paired with specially crafted cocktails then this is the place for you.
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Cova, and as soon as I stepped inside, it became clear that this wasn’t just a restaurant – it was a dreamy escape. With interiors inspired by the mystery of caves, this place envelops you with earthy beige colors and carefully crafted walls. The atmosphere here is intimate yet lively, making it an ideal place for your culinary journey.

Our evening began with their signature cocktails, each thoughtfully crafted to showcase the unique flavors. The first drink I tried was the Summer Plunge, a Mediterranean-inspired concoction that was both delicious and refreshing. The salty depth of the Ketel One Vodka was beautifully balanced by the sweetness of the watermelon bush and the intensity of the passionfruit sparkling water. It was a light, energetic start that immediately set the tone for the evening.
But that was just the beginning. Next came The Fire Ritual, a bold twist on the classic Picante. The smokiness of the Reposado tequila paired brilliantly with the vibrant heat of the paprika, while the citrusy agave complemented it with just the right amount of sweetness. This cocktail had an intense allure that lingered long after the last sip.
To complement the drinks, we join the food. Their extensive menu included many Mediterranean, Asian and fusion options. Although it was hard to choose just one, we started with the Chicken Yakitori. Coated in a luscious glaze of sake, mirin and soy sauce, the skewers were tender and delicious. The nuttiness of the sesame seeds and the freshness of the green onions added depth and texture, making this a dish that was as satisfying as it was comforting.

The Butterfly Garlic Prawns were another highlight. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with a generous amount of butter and wine, the prawns were made even more delicious with a touch of chilli flakes, which added the perfect flavour. Paired with crusty bread to soak up the delicious chutney, this was a dish that took my taste buds on a roller coaster ride. However, it was the juicy and tender pork gyoza that stole my heart. I have never had such amazing gyoza.
In between meals, we decided to learn more about their cocktail offerings. This time, I chose Inner Roots, a drink that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Thailand. Bombay Sapphire Gin served as the base, elevated by aromatic notes of lemongrass and galangal, while lychee cordial and kaffir lime essential oil added brightness. This aromatic cocktail pairs beautifully with Blackened BBQ Chicken, a smoky, juicy dish served with refreshing Corn Cilantro Salsa and a creamy Cucumber Cumin Dip.

The culinary journey continued with two excellent curries from Cova. Chicken Malacca Curry was a Malaysian inspired dish. The spiciness of the tamarind, the warmth of the cinnamon and the fragrance of the curry leaves created a dish that was rich, hearty and unforgettable. The Laksa Curry Bowl, which was recommended to us by the staff, certainly did not disappoint. The curry was a delicious combination of coconut milk, lemongrass, chilli and turmeric, with noodles that soaked up the aromatic broth beautifully.

We ended the night on a high note with Secrets of Java, a cocktail that doubled as dessert. Blanco tequila, banana saccharum and hazelnut liqueur combined to create a drink that was sweet, nutty and delicious. The Salted Caramel Banana Tart Finish was a perfect end to a perfect meal.
Overall, I had a great time at Cova – The Cavern. The staff was polite, the atmosphere was soulful. The food and drinks were definitely the highlight of my trip. I can’t wait to try the other Mediterranean and fusion cuisine available at this place!
