In short

  • Director AR Murugadoss admitted that Alexander’s execution failed to join the audience
  • He finds the original script challenging the remake like Ghajini
  • Filmmaker open to Bollywood if he finds his comfort field

Despite the sky-high expectations, Salman Khan’s ‘Alexander’, directed by AR Murugdos, has fallen at the box office, and the film-producer has now opened it about it. The 200 crore rupee film has earned only Rs 184.6 crore worldwide in 22 days, which is less than its grand ambitions.

Murugadoss, celebrated for blockbusters like ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Holiday’, opened about heavy response. He admitted that when the film’s base lifted the emotional weight, the execution did not land with the audience.

In an interview with Well -walnous voiceHe said, “The story was about a king, who never exactly gives importance to his wife. Only after his death, when his limbs were donated to three people, does he try to fulfill what he could not do for him. It was deeply emotional, but I could not execute it well,” he said.

Filmmaker, who tasted success with ‘Ghajini’ – a remake – accepted the difficulty of creating original scripts like ‘Sikander’. “I could pull Ghajini because it was a remake. With ‘Alexander’, it was not,” he reflected.

Nevertheless, Murugados is not closing the door on Bollywood. “I will definitely return to Hindi cinema if I get my comfort zone. But when the audience does not connect with my thinking, it impresses me deeply,” he said.

In ‘Alexander’, Salman Khan played the role of Sanjay, a merciful king of Rajkot, who collides with the son of a local politician. After the death of his wife (played by the Rashmika), Sanjay formed his mission to protect the people receiving his donated organs.

The film also includes Rashmika Mandanna.
