Kerala rapper Vedan is one of the many celebrities who have been drunk on the misuse of alleged drugs by the police. The Malayalam artist made headlines to the police after recovering canbis from his apartment in Kochi. While a case is going on against him, let us take a detailed look as to who Vedan is!
Who is Vedan?
Hirandas Murali, known as Vedan, is an Indian rapper and lyricist from Kerala. Born in Thrissur, the artists arose for fame in June 2020 when he released his first music video on Voice of the Voysters, YouTube. The video quickly attracted online attention, installing it as a fresh voice in Malayalam rap.
Later, Vedan released his second music video, Bhumi Najan Vazunidam. In 2024, he collaborated with popular composer Sushin Shyam for the promo track Kuthanthram in the film Manjmel Boys. As a playback singer, Vedan did not contribute songs such as Narabali and Maraanathin Neeram for Nayatu.
In 2024, in addition to the Kuthanthram, he also worked on the song Kondal Vedan for the film Kondal and for all of us clouds in the clouds in All we Prakash. Vedan’s talents also expanded to international cooperation, as they painted with Track La Vida in KSHMR’s album Karam. He has also released solo like VAA, Budhani Pira and Social Criminals.
Case against Vedan
According to Hindu, Kerala -based rapper Vedan was arrested on Monday, 28 April, when the police recovered about six grams of cannabis from their apartments near Kochi. The Hill Palace police worked on a tip-off and found the substance during a search.
Vedan returned to the flat with eight friends after a stage performance on Sunday night. Everyone was being questioned at the time of the report. Officials confirmed that they would be accused under the NDPS Act. However, the station may be granted bail due to being found in small quantities. Further details are awaited.
