Who is the Dark Storm Team? All about Hacking Group behind X aka Twitter outage
X aka Twitter outage

X, earlier known as Twitter, faced a large outage on Monday, which disrupted access to thousands of users worldwide. The issue began at the beginning of the day, in which users had to face error messages as “something went wrong. Try to load again.” The service interrupted continued for hours, with the dowtector records a summit of 40,000 complaints. Elon Musk, the boss of the micro-blogging site, accepted the outage and claimed that it was a cyber attack and not his server mistake. Just after his statement came, a dark stock team claimed responsibility. But, who is this team, and why is all this happening? Here is everything that we know about it.

Elon Musk confirms cyberlack

X owner Elon Musk confirmed that the stage was targeted by large -scale cyber attacks. In a post on X, Musk said the attack was well coordinated and included a lot of resources. He said that such attacks were daily, but it was a particularly intense, possibly a large group or even a nation.

Musk said on X, “still (still) was against a large -scale cyber attack. We attack every day, but it was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country,” Musk said on X.

The dark store team claims responsibility. Who are they?

Shortly after Musk’s statement, a hacker group named Dark Storm Team claimed responsibility for the outage. The group established in 2023, allegedly involved in cyber warfare activities and has targeted the first high-protection systems. On his Telegram channel, he claimed that Twitter has taken offline and shared evidence of stage attacks.

Is the DDOS attack to be convicted for X/Twitter outage?

It is being told that the outage was due to a distributed refusal-service-service attack. These types of attacks overwhelm the server with excessive traffic, causing recession or full shutdowns of platforms. According to Reuters, several waves of DDOS attacks were launched against X, which severely disrupts access.

What is Ukraine connection?

Connecting the complexity of the attack, Musk estimated during an interview with Larry Kudlo of the Fox Business Network that the attack could arise from Ukraine -linked IP addresses. However, cyber safety experts have advised to take precautions, stating that IP addresses are often masked and can be rooted through other countries, making it difficult to determine the actual origin of the attack. The investigation of the attack is on. Therefore, we should have more clarity on this matter in the coming days.
