Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer Barfi! The Hindi film industry is considered one of the best films so far. Priyanka’s performance as an autistic girl, Jhilmil, was equally appreciated by both the audience and critics. In earlier conversations, Anushka Sharma once expressed a desire to ask Priyanka a question about her career’s best performance.
Surprisingly, Priyanka Chopra was not honored with any major award for this, despite leaving everyone with their depiction in Barfi. During the earlier appearance on the Hot Oons show on YouTube, the actress admitted to touched by fans who contacted her and praised her performance in the 2012-relief film.
She told that she did not win any award that year, but nurtured the praise she had received. Later, Anushka Sharma appeared as a guest on Kofi in 2014, with Anurag Kashyap, to promote her film Bombay Velvet.
During the conversation, he was asked if he had any question for Chopra. In response, she not only praised Priyanka’s performance, but also addressed the fact that she did not win any award for it.
She said, “I ask her if she was disappointed whether she had not received an award for Barfi! I thought it was her career-secretary performance and she was unprecedented in the film, which I was one of the best performances I saw by any female actor.”
When Anurag Basu intervened to ask who won that year, the Sultan actress could not remember and said, “I don’t remember.” For this, Karan Johar revealed that Vidya Balan had won most of the awards that year for her performance in Kahni.
2012-District Barfi! There was a lovely love story between Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor) and Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra). It also included Saurabh Shukla, Ileana D’Cruz, Jishu Sengupta and other lead roles.

On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra is currently working on her first cooperation with SS Rajamouli for SSMB 29. The film also features Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles and is expected to release in summer of 2026. Meanwhile, Anska Sharma is taking a break from films to focus on his children.
