In short

  • WhatsApp can roll a new logout option
  • Expected to be signed out from account without removing existing data
  • There is no official notification on a roll out date

WhatsApp may soon allow users to move away from the application, according to the details exposed in the recent beta release, to uninstall it or erase their chat history. This long -requested feature can provide more control to users how and when they use messaging platforms, especially helpful for those who are looking to take digital brakes or switch between several accounts. For now, if the user wants to logout from the account, they have to remove the account, but it seems that it may end soon.

A new report by Android Authority, in collaboration with the tech tipster assembly, suggests that the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (v2.25.17.37) includes early signs of logout function – the first for the platform. Currently under development or internal testing, this feature was discovered within the Settings> Account menu of the app and is not yet visible to the general public.

The upcoming logout feature on WhatsApp is expected to provide three different options to users. First, “Erase all data and preferences,” the device will completely remove all chat history and user settings. Second, “Keep all data and priorities,” allows users to log out of their account by preserving all chats, media files and individual settings, making it easier to resume later without data loss. Finally, the “cancel” option simply comes out of the logout process without any change.

If users choose to keep their data, they can return to their account and reach their stored messages and files when logged back. This functionality is contrary to the current status of cases, where users who want to use WhatsApp, either want to uninstall the app or completely neutralize their account, often at the cost of losing local data.

In addition to a logout button, WhatsApp will bring more to other messaging platforms that already support temporary sine-outs such as telegram or signal. This can prove to be particularly useful for the management of many accounts or professional users, which need to be tolerated between individual and functioning profiles.

For now, there is no official term from the original company of Meta, WhatsApp, when this feature will be rolled out. However, it is expected to debut for beta testers before becoming a part of stable release.

Development is widely welcomed by the technical community, especially those who have criticized all the views of WhatsApp for account management. By giving users the option to log out without erasing the data, the app is designed to provide a more convenient and user -friendly experience.

Whether you are aiming for social media detox or just want to switch accounts without losing your chat, the upcoming logout facility may soon be that WhatsApp users have been waiting for a long time. As usual, beta features may take time to reach the wider public, but it appears on a horizon.
