WhatsApp is currently one of the most popular messaging platforms, with approximately 3 billion users worldwide. To cater to this huge user base and provide an interactive platform, the Meta-owned app constantly works on new features to keep the users engaged. One of the new features WhatsApp is reportedly working on is the ability for users to create and share entire sticker packs with other contacts directly from the app.
According to WABetaInfo, a site that tracks the latest developments on WhatsApp, the feature is currently in the beta stage. It has started rolling out to select Android users through the latest WhatsApp beta update version 2.24.25.2 available on Google Play Store. While the ability to create custom sticker packs is still under development, beta testers have reportedly gained the ability to share entire sticker packs with their contacts, suggesting that the feature will be coming soon after successful testing. Will be available to users.
Elaborating on how the feature works, the report reveals that users will be able to open the sticker picker in any chat and find a new three-dot menu option next to each sticker pack. This menu will offer two options: sharing the sticker pack or removing it from their personal library. By selecting the share option, users can easily send the sticker pack to friends, family or group chat.
For first-party sticker packs created by WhatsApp, sharing generates a direct link to the official sticker store. This process allows recipients to download the pack from the Store without needing to re-upload the stickers WhatsApp already hosts online. Meanwhile, third-party sticker packs can be directly uploaded and shared with contacts or groups, making it convenient for users who enjoy creating or collecting custom sticker sets.
As for availability, the sticker-sharing feature is currently limited to select beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android via the Google Play Store. WhatsApp has also teased the feature on its official
Although there is no official timeline for a global launch, the gradual rollout to beta testers suggests that WhatsApp is in an advanced stage of testing. Users interested in trying out this feature can join the beta program on the Google Play Store to access it before the general release.
