Akshay Kumar worked in many films in 2024. But sadly, none of them were successful in making a positive impact at the box office. Looking at his filmography, some people were of the opinion that the reason his films did not work was that they came across as repetitive. Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, Sarfira and Khel Khel are the three films in which Akshay Kumar acted last year. But he did not perform as per expectations. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, popular film and TV actor Ram Kapoor was asked if the reason why Khiladi Kumar’s films did not work was because he was becoming repetitive.
Sharing his views on the matter, the Humshakals actor said, “It’s easy for someone to see it from the outside.” Elaborating further, he said that be it Akshay or anyone, sometimes it happens that they commit to many projects 2-3 years in advance. This happens mostly because they have no choice
They all know that in this industry they have to build the right relationships. If a director or producer with whom an actor has worked before approaches them for another film, one cannot refuse them as it is the right thing to do. One cannot suddenly become arrogant and refuse to work in one’s next film.
So, they take up projects and stay busy for the next few years. When actors sign films in advance, they give dates after three years, and so on. Obviously, they all do the same thing. “So, unfortunately, we can say it is duplication, but they have already signed 5 years ago. Now, he has no option, he has to do this,” said Ram Kapoor.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Sandeep Kewali and Abhishek Kapoor’s Sky Force alongside Sara Ali Khan and Veer Pahriya. This film will be released in theaters on 24 January 2025.
