Momos and dim sum have many fans. Both of these dishes can be stuffed with a wide variety of ingredients, making them perfect for unusual flavour combinations and cooking experiments too. In some ways, momos and dim sum are quite similar. Both can be described as steamed pockets of filling, often associated with pan-Asian cuisine. Recently, an X post about the difference between the two caught the attention of many online. In the post that is now going viral, we see a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation in Hindi between two people.

One person asks the other if they can ask them something since they are from Delhi. They reply yes and are asked about the difference between the two dishes mentioned above. The person from Delhi replies that the difference is in the vessel in which they are served. According to him, if the dish comes in a bamboo box, it is dim sum.
