Recalling the ritual, Aamir laughs, “When the shooting is over, and we’re in the final post-production, I always write a note to Mansoor. I’m always very stressed about what if my plane crashes, or I die? I don’t want anything to go wrong with the film. So, I ask the director to take Mansoor’s advice. And I ask Mansoor to take care of this. I’m on the flight. I do this every time before I climb.”
He further added, “He (Mansoor Khan) is someone whose instincts I trust completely. That’s what I have said to Kiran (Rao, ex-wife) many times – if anything happens to me, make sure you run it by Mansoor.”
Aamir-Mansoor’s support
Aamir and Mansoor have worked together in films like from doom to doom (1988), The one who wins is the emperor (1994) and i am alone, you are alone (1995). Aamir said that he has often brought in Mansoor as a creative producer when he felt that a new team, including a new director and a new actor, needed support for one of his productions. He did this on Abbas Tyrewala’s 2008 romantic comedy whether you know or notstarring his nephew Imran Khan, and most recently Sunil Pandey’s one dayStarring Aamir’s son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi.
one day Released today. India Today gave the film a two-star rating, and Part of this review Read, “It’s a premise that sounds interesting on paper, even cheesy in parts. Two people, a fleeting day, a love story that exists in fragments. But one day Never rises above his thoughts. The setup feels dated, reminiscent of the early 2000s television dramas from the world of Ekta Kapoor, where fantastical circumstances forced romance to blossom in an artificial setting. In 2026, it feels less nostalgic, more regressive.”
