Pastor TD Jakes, one of the world’s leading Christian leaders and a motivational speaker, suffered a medical scare during a Sunday sermon.
Jakes experienced a medical emergency during his Sunday sermon at The Potter House in Dallas. While speaking to his congregation and online audience, he seemed normal, except that his voice was soft, and he was wiping sweat from his forehead.
In the video surfacing on social media, Jake was seen mid-speech when he suddenly stopped speaking, dropped his hands and started convulsing. Staff members sprang into action to assist him before the live stream ended abruptly.
Potter House later cited in the media that TD Jakes had a minor health incident where he sought immediate medical care and that he is under the close supervision of a doctor to regain stability. According to TMZ, The Potter House released a statement calling Jake’s emergency a “minor health incident and he received immediate medical attention.”
The statement released on Facebook emphasized, “During today’s service, Bishop TD Jakes experienced a minor health event and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message. Bishop Jakes He is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter House family is grateful for your understanding and continued prayers.
His leadership of the Dallas megachurch, as well as his numerous religious and self-help books, have kept him in the spotlight. Last year Jake set the record straight on unfounded rumors about Sean’s alleged affair with disgraced music mogul Diddy Combs.
Fans and followers are holding their breath for his speedy recovery. TD Jakes’ daughter, Sarah Jakes, and her son-in-law Toure Roberts also posted an official health update via Instagram. He assured followers that he is doing well and is slowly recovering. He also thanked fans for their prayers.
