It often happens with Hollywood stars that they say no to an opportunity that could take their career to the next level or become a fan favorite. Talking about rejecting an offer, Sterling K. Brown reportedly revealed that he rejected a role in the beloved Amazon Prime Video series, The Boys.
While speaking with Variety, the Paradise actor shared that he was saddened to decline the above proposal presented by showrunner Eric Kripke. The two men have previously worked with each other on Supernatural.
He shared, “I think it was a bad guy (role), because it was so lucrative,” he added, “but a full season arc, they’re in Toronto — it’s hard. Listen, these champagne problems. That’s who I’m talking about right here!”
The This Is Us actor revealed that because he’s “lucky enough” to have “certain things” he already has, he gets to choose the projects he does. During a conversation with the outlet, the artist did not share much information about which role he was offered in the Prime Video show.
The actor also expressed his desire to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those unaware, the actor was featured in Black Panther, which was released in 2018. He played N’Jobu, the exiled younger brother of King T’Challa and T’Challa’s uncle.
King said, “I think Marvel should be like Law & Order – after a certain number of years, you have to reset, you have to come back.” The actor said he would absolutely love to return to the Marvel universe. Please bring me back. Please please. Thank you.”
The 2018-released venture also stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, Martin Freeman, Danai Gurira, and many others.
