Akshay Kumar is all set to return in the third installment of the popular Welcome franchise. Welcome to the Jungle was officially announced last year i.e. in 2023 and the shooting has been going on in full swing for the past few months. However, it is learned that the filming has been hampered as the set of the multi-starrer comedy was damaged due to rains. Director Ahmed Khan revealed that the work will resume after the set is rebuilt.
In a recent update, it was revealed that the sets of the upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle have suffered partial damage due to heavy rains in Mumbai. A massive set was erected by the makers ahead of its marathon schedule in the first week of August 2024. The schedule was supposed to feature a cast of 34 actors, including Akshay Kumar, which also included a song shoot.
Although the shooting of the film has been delayed, the crew is currently working hard to recreate the grand set. In a statement, director Ahmed Khan reflected on the situation and also shared his decision to resume filming as soon as the set is ready again.
He said, “It is unfortunate that a part of the set got damaged due to the heavy rains in Mumbai. So as a creative decision I have decided to start shooting after rebuilding the set. The crew is constantly working on rebuilding the set and hopefully, we will start shooting soon.”
In the 2023 announcement video of the film, the cast was seen performing acapella, giving a glimpse of the entertainment in store for the audience.

Meanwhile, Akshay is currently gearing up for the release of his film Khel Khel Mein, which will hit the theatres on August 15.
