Vivo Y300 arrived in India today, as promised by the company last week. The phone has a lot of similarities with the Vivo V40 Lite in Indonesia, but it has a slightly different camera setup, and for that, we are considering the device as new.

The Y300 in India comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and 8GB of RAM (expandable up to 16GB via settings). There are two storage options, 128 GB or 256 GB; If that’s not enough, users can enjoy a micro SD slot.

The front of the phone sports a 6.67” AMOLED panel with 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It also has a punch hole for a 32 MP selfie camera.

The Y300 mainly excels when it comes to the camera. It sports a 50 MP shooter with a Sony IMX882 sensor, aided by a 2 MP portrait lens. The phone also has an AI Aura Ring Light, which is separate from the dual LED flash and works as additional illumination for portrait shots in the dark.

The phone also has some AI features like Erase or Enhance, which allow users to remove background objects or fix old, grainy photos. It also has the infamous Super Moon feature, which takes a photo of the full moon and draws a realistic image (it doesn’t actually take a detailed photo of the celestial object).

The Y300 packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging. According to the official website, it should charge from 0 to 80% in half an hour, but the FlashCharge feature can be turned off to protect battery health.

The marketing slogan for the Y300 is “This is my style,” and for this, Vivo implemented a high-gloss frame and fancy color options. The Y300 comes in Titanium Silver, Emerald Green, or Phantom Purple, and all three look beautiful in the renders.

The phone has Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB-C port at the bottom but it doesn’t support FM radio or NFC. It comes with Android 14 and Funtouch OS 14. The body also has IP64 rating, which protects the phone from dust and water splashes.

Vivo Y300 is priced at Rs 21,999 for the 128 GB variant or Rs 23,999 for the 256 GB variant. It is currently available for prebooking on the company’s website and its sale will start from Tuesday, November 26.
