Vivo X200T first impressions

Date:

Vivo today introduced the Vivo X200T as the newest member of its X200 series. The smartphone is “engineered for travel and real-world photography” and will go on sale in India from February 3 in two colors – Seaside Lilac and Stellar Black. We spent some time with the Seaside Lilac model and here are our first impressions of the smartphone.

The Vivo X200T comes in the same retail box as the X200, X200 Pro and X200 FE. It includes a charging cable, a SIM ejector, some documents, a 90W power adapter and a high-quality protective case matching the color of the phone.

The display features thin bezels and a centered punch-hole for the 32MP selfie camera using the ISOCELL KD1 (1/3.44″) sensor. It has an f/2.0 aperture and can record videos up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. However, portrait video is limited to 1080p resolution at 30 fps.

Additionally, the Vivo During the short time we spent with the phone we found the fingerprint scanner to be fast and accurate, and we’re glad it’s not located close to the bottom bezel. Placing the fingerprint scanner on top provides a comfortable phone-unlocking experience.

Turn the Vivo X200T around, and you’ll see a circular camera island, which may remind you of the X200 or X200 Pro. The camera island features three cameras co-developed with ZEISS – a 50MP primary camera (15mm), a 50MP ultrawide camera (23mm), and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera (70mm).

The primary and telephoto cameras have ZEISS T* coating, but only the former has OIS. The primary camera uses a Sony IMX921 sensor and has an f/1.57 aperture, while the telephoto camera uses a Sony IMX882 sensor and has an f/2.57 aperture. The telephoto unit supports up to 100x “ZEISS hyperzoom” and up to 20x telephoto macro. The ultrawide camera has an f/2.0 aperture and uses the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.

The primary camera of the Vivo X200T, like the selfie camera, can record videos at up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. You can also click photos in portrait mode with five focal lengths – 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm.

Additionally, the Vivo X200T comes with some AI-powered photography features, including AI Weather Filter and AI Landscape Master. It also comes with India-specific Holi AIGC, which “uses AI to automatically recognize themes and festive settings, creating vivid, colorful images that transmit the joy of the Holi festival.”

The Seaside Lilac version, which is 2 grams lighter than the Stellar Black model and is the subject of this article, looks beautiful in person. Its glass back panel is sandblasted with nano-coating and is smudge-resistant.

The X200T has a flat metal frame, and has the power button and volume rocker on the right frame, both with good feedback. There is a USB-C port at the bottom, which is flanked by a SIM card slot, primary microphone and speaker grill. At the top is the secondary mic and an IR blaster.

The Vivo X200T has a solid build and we really liked its overall design. The X200T isn’t as compact as the X200 FE, but it’s still quite comfortable to hold and use with one hand.

Under the hood, we have the Dimensity 9400+ SoC and V2 imaging chip, along with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The X200T boots Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and comes with a promise of five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, which is impressive.

Keeping the Vivo X200T running is a 6,200 mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. It also supports bypass charging while gaming. Other highlights of the Vivo X200T include NFC, stereo speakers, eSIM support, and a 4.5K liquid cooling vapor chamber.

Vivo Both will go on sale in India from February 3 via Vivo’s official Indian website, Flipkart and offline retail stores.
