As expected, Vivo announced its S20 series smartphones in China today, focusing on design and upper midrange specs. The main differences between Vivo S20 and Vivo S20 Pro depend on the chipset, cameras, and battery capacity.

Both S20 models feature 6.67-inch AMOLED displays (FHD+ 120Hz) with a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. The S20 has a flat panel, while the Pro has one curved at all four corners. Both phones have a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and in-display optical fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo S20 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset while the S20 Pro has the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC. The S20 Pro also brings support for faster Wi-Fi 7 and 5.5G connectivity in mainland China.
On the rear, the S20 sports a 50MP main camera (OV50E) with OIS along with an 8MP ultrawide lens and Vivo’s Aura Light circular LED light.
The S20 Pro takes things up a notch with its 50MP main shooter (IMX921) with OIS and a 3x periscope zoom lens using an IMX882 sensor. The third shooter is a 50MP ultrawide.
Vivo S20 Pro brings more capable cameras
The other big difference between the two phones is their battery capacities, with the S20 getting a larger 6,500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, while the S20 Pro gets a 5,500 mAh battery with slightly faster 90W charging.
Both phones boot OriginOS 5 based on Android 15.
