Director Vivek Agnihotri is not leaving any stone before the release of his upcoming political play ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’. In a grand step to ensure maximum visibility, he has attached the trailer of his new film to the two mega release of 2025.

According to a source close to the film, Agnihotri’s much awaited ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’ will start its two-minute dramatic trailer tomorrow, which is playing in theaters along with the Big Independence Weekend releases ‘War 2’ and ‘Cooli’ as well as theaters. The complete length trailer will be unveiled at a grand launch in Kolkata on 16 August.

Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR’s ‘War 2’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Cooli’, ‘The Bengal Files: Wright to Life’ will definitely attract the attention of the audience, which will create curiosity. The film was first titled ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter’. However, Agnihotri later converted it into ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’.

The film marks the third installment in Agnihotri’s “Files” trilogy, after ‘Tashkent Files’ (2019) and ‘The Kashmir Files’ (2022). ‘The Bengal files: Right to Life’ is based on events like Direct Action Day and Nokhali riots. Agnihotri described these events as a “Hindu massacre” and its purpose was ignored this chapter of Indian history.

The film’s first-relief, spine-chilling teasers show claims about communal politics, and a person is asking that even after 80 years of independence from British rule which is really free.

The decision of Agnihotri and his team indicates an important element to go according to his initial plans to start the trailer in Kolkata, which in view of the political controversies related to the film. The director of ‘The Bengal files: Right to Life’ claimed about several FIRs filed by the West Bengal government against him. His decision to play the trailer of the film in Kolkata comes after the right time when the state government made it mandatory for all cinema halls to screen the daily Bengali films during prime time.

‘The Bengal files: Right to Life’ is co-built by Abhishek Aggarwal and Pallavi Joshi. Due to security concerns for the film’s team, was shot in Mumbai instead of Kolkata. The film Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles.

‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’ is scheduled for dramatic release on 5 September 2025.
