Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has addressed the allegations of Anurag Kashyap’s recent allegations “false”, which is dating a long -standing professional discord for his cooperation on the 2007 film ‘Dhan Paddy Dhan’. Speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Agnihotri raised Kashyap’s earlier comment about drinking habits, while also accepted his contribution to Indian cinema.
,Usko pseudo. Woh Raat Mein Kya Bolta Hai, Subah Kya Bolta Hai, Dono Mein Farak Hai. Jiske Andar 2-3 aadmi rehte hain, uski baat ko main kay kahun Agnihotri said.
He continued, “Yes, I talked about his drinking habits, and this is the truth. But I never said that Anurag is a bad man – he is a wonderful boy. His contribution to Indian cinema is unprecedented. Only an Anurag Kashyap can be. When the history of Indian cinema is written, people will miss him.”
The rift between the two directors allegedly began when Agnihotri claimed that Kashyap’s alleged prohibition affected his work. Defending his stance, he said, “My film was suffering due to his alcohol. What is wrong with this? I used to drink a lot at a point in my life, and I was suffering at work due to it. This happens.” Agnihotri also said that Kashyap had assigned his responsibilities to filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwen on the project.
While his professional paths have devised, both filmmakers continue to actively work in the industry.
Agnihotri is currently gearing up for ‘The Bengal Files’, a politically charged drama focused on political violence in West Bengal, which features Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar. The project follows his controversial vein of commercially successful ‘The Kashmir Files’.
Meanwhile, Kashyap is working on ‘Nishachi’, including Balasaheb Thakere’s grandson Aishwari Thakere, whose teaser was recently unveiled.
