If someone asks if I have ever been physically attacking, it was that day. Not out of anger, but because the audience just wanted to touch you,” he said.

The frenzy left a mark, literally. He said, “I am not joking, I still have a mark of people who scratched me. It was not a bad thing. They just wanted a part of you. ‘Ishq Visk’ was a big twist in my career,” he said, he said, credited director Ken Ghosh to shape the success of the film. “All the credit goes to him, he was really amazing.”

Looking at his early days, Malhotra highlighted the modest start of his career. “I don’t come from a film family. I started television as a summer job. Disney was paying me Rs 4,000 per episode 30 years ago! I used to earn Rs 16,000 every month as the Disney Club broadcast on DD Metro every Sunday at 10 am.”

While Shahid Kapoor went to the headlines of films like ‘Viva’, ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Kabir Singh’, Malhotra continuously produced his journey in television and cinema.
