Sushi is one of the most popular Japanese dishes around the world. However, its taste can vary quite a bit among some foodies. One person who is not a fan of it is digital creator and professor Dr. Falguni Vasavada. In a recent Instagram video, she shared her first experience of eating sushi. So the breaking news is, I had never eaten sushi before. I didn’t feel like eating it. It looked suspicious to me. ,[So, the breaking news is that till now, I had never eaten sushi. I never felt like eating it. It looked suspicious to me]), he said, explaining his hesitation.

She finally tried it while hanging out with friends recently. “But yesterday with a group of friends, I wanted it because I ordered itAnd everybody said, ‘Try it, it’s vegetarian'” ([I tasted it because we ordered it, and everyone said ‘Try it, it’s vegetarian’]), he shared. Despite the encouragement, Dr Vasavada was not impressed. “My first reaction is, why, why made such a thing, What do you get by eating this cold rice cheese?(Why do we need to make such things? What do we get by eating cold rice pakodas?) Watch the full video below:

The reel has garnered a lot of attention online. While some agree with the views expressed, others feel that sushi should not be mocked in such a manner.

One user commented, “I agree with you on most of your videos. However, making fun of a food type/item is not nice.”

“This is my first honest review of sushi,” another wrote.

One funny comment read, “Sushi is all about the fish. Without fish it’s like eating jalebi without sugar syrup.”

Another user said, “As a vegetarian and a sushi lover, I disagree, ma’am. Sushi is light and fresh and has a lovely sophistication to it that has recently gained it many fans around the world.”

One comment read, “It’s okay if you don’t like something. But the way you describe it in a derogatory manner is not fair. Food is food.”

The person supported Falguni’s opinion and said, “OMG cold rice never thought of it that way,” followed by a rolling on the floor laughing emoji.

Another comment read: “Why this insult? This is like licking.”
