We have seen many bizarre recipe videos featuring unusual deep-fried foods. But have you ever seen someone dipping an entire pile of bananas in hot oil? Recently, a reel showing something similar took Instagram by storm and garnered several reactions in the comments section. In the now viral video by @crispyfoodstation, we see two men set to work making a one-of-a-kind banana fritter. As mentioned, they first take a huge pile of bananas, including the peel, which is still attached to the stem, and put it in a vessel filled with hot oil.

The entire pile is not submerged in water. But while the bottom bananas are cooking, a person pours hot oil from a vessel over the top bananas. Later, they separate the ‘fried’ bananas and remove the peels. They flatten the fruit after wrapping it in plastic and then apply a special batter on it. The thin banana slices are then deep-fried until golden brown. Finally, the two people making the snack taste what they have made. The reel has been viewed nearly 25 million times so far. In the comments, many people disliked the dish. Many questioned the double-frying method, while others commented on the potential health risks it poses.
