In India, hard work moves deep into culture, and sometimes, we come in stories that actually make this feeling embodied. One such story is of a 108 -year -old man from Moga, Punjab, who is still selling onions and potatoes on the road. One person recently met the street seller while he was working and decided to share the online moment. The video features an elderly seller, smiling and working despite his age. When asked how old he was, he replied in Punjabi, “108.” In the video, the seller is seen taking a sip of water and calls the passers -by with enthusiasm, shouting, “Alu paji“(Potato and onion!) As he continued his day’s work.

The person who had recorded the video was shifted from the encounter, that he shared it with an caption: “In Moga today, I met an incredible soul today-a 108-year-old road seller still still onion and with a smile. The video was viewed more than 2.5 million times on Instagram in no time, social media users expressed their praise for the spirit of the elderly seller.

A user commented, “The older generation, whose thinking was very intelligent, and it is the last generation of the elders.”

Another wrote, “108 years of age, and such strength.”

A comment was read, “His voice may remain the same.”

One user shared, “Looking at Baba, I do not even realize how many years have passed. We were very young when Baba used to sell vegetables.”

Earlier this month, near Mumbai, an elderly selling snacks were shown at Thane railway station, viral. The couple, Bhimrao and Shobha have been together for four decades. Bhimrao is visually impaired and Shobha has a distorted hand. They sell snacks such as Chakli, Kachori and Bhakarwadi at the station, and Bhimrao, despite their visual loss, help by cutting vegetables. Read more here.
