Sabarmati Report, a controversial political drama directed by Dheeraj Sarna, will soon be available for streaming. The film, starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, was initially scheduled to release in theaters on November 15, 2024. Its online premiere will be on January 11 on ZEE5.

The film’s story focuses on Samar Kumar, played by Vikrant Massey, a passionate journalist investigating the 2002 Godhra train fire in Gujarat. As he digs deeper, he uncovers disturbing truths and a dangerous conspiracy involving powerful people who are determined to keep their secrets hidden.

Despite facing criticism from various quarters, the Sabarmati report was declared tax-free by the BJP government in many states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior BJP politicians attended the screening of the film along with the cast and crew.

After the release of the film, Vikrant Massey announced his decision to take a break from acting, leading to speculations of an early retirement. However, the actor clarified that he wants to spend more time with his family, including his newborn son Vardaan. Before his break, Vikrant will be seen in the romantic comedy ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan’ opposite newcomer Shanaya Kapoor. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor and is financed by Zee Studios.
