Vijay Sethupathi and director Thiagarajan Kumararaja initially collaborated on the hyperlink comedy crime drama Super Deluxe, which received widespread praise. Now, seven years later, the pair have reunited for a film titled Pocket Book.
Vijay Sethupathi starts shooting for Pocket Book
Taking to their official social media handles, the producers, Tyler Durden and Kino Feist, announced the project with an interesting first look. Sharing the update, the team wrote, “Pocket novel by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. Shooting begins!”

The first-look poster gives an interesting glimpse of Vijay Sethupathi’s character, showing the image of a man falling into a ditch. Apart from Vijay, the film stars Malavika Mohanan and Raj B Shetty in co-lead roles, marking their first collaboration with the director.
Additionally, music veteran Ilaiyaraaja is composing the songs and background score, marking his second collaboration with the director after the web series Modern Love Chennai.
Earlier, Vijay Sethupathi and Thiagarajan Kumararaja had worked together on Super Deluxe. The 2019 Hyperlink film featured several interconnected stories, in which Sethupathi played a transgender woman who returns to her wife and son while dealing with the social stigma surrounding her identity.
Along with him, the film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan and others in lead roles.
Vijay Sethupathi’s work front
Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in the lead role in Gandhi Talks. Directed by Kishore Pandurang Belekar, the film has no dialogues and stars Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav in the lead roles.
Looking ahead, the actor will next be seen in the lead role in Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road. This action film directed by Puri Jagannadh will star Samyuktha and Tabu in co-lead roles.
Apart from this, the actor is also a part of Silambarasan starrer Arasan directed by Vetrimaaran. The film is a spin-off set in the Vada Chennai cinematic universe, which originally starred Dhanush.
Additionally, Sethupathi also has a cameo role in films like Train and Jailer 2.
