In his tribute, Bajpayee wrote, “This is so sad! May your soul rest in peace sir! My memories of the third season of TFM will live forever because of you!” The note, along with a red heart emoji, points to the meaningful relationship that developed between the two during production.

In an emotional Instagram note, the actor described the deep bond he shared with Thapa during and after the filming Mary Kom. He credited Sunil for helping him through the most challenging periods of his personal life, especially after the death of his father Ashok Chopra.

Sunil Thapa’s career spanned four decades, in which he made significant contributions to both Bollywood and Nepali cinema. The late actor, known for his versatility, seamlessly transitioned between the roles of villain and guru. He also served as the President of Everest Film Academy, playing an important role in the development of the film community in Nepal.

Before her acting career, she worked as a model and later made her mark in over 300 Nepali films as well as regional and Hindi cinema. His memorable performances included the role of Rhett Calla in the film Chino (1991), which remains important in Nepali film history.
