Vayaputra, Lord Hanuman announced the 3D animation film. First look poster out

Producer Naga Vamsi announced a new 3D animation film on his social media, Vayaputra, which featured Lord Hanuman with an animated poster. The animated film will be directed by Chandu Monteti of fame ‘Thandel’.

Following the monumental success of ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ at the Indian box office, Telugu filmmaker Naga Vamsi announced an upcoming animation project based on Lord Hanuman, ‘Vayuputra’ on 10 September.

With the poster, Naga Vamsi wrote in his caption, “An immortal story, a kind of rebirth, the world has never seen. Vayputra ~ The Legend of Lord Hanuman, like never before. A story that we have been working for the last few years, have been prepared for a brainchild for Chandu Mondetti. In Kannada (SIC).

In the vibrant declaration poster, Lord Hanuman can be seen long standing and a burning Lanka, while his own tail is on fire. This shows that the story can increase the proceedings of Ramayana from the point of view of Hanuman. The poster also announced that the animated film would be available in 3D, which promises more immersive experience.

‘Vayputra’ will be directed by Chandu Mondetti, who first directed fantasy films like ‘Thandel’ and ‘Kartikeya’ and ‘Kartikeya 2’. The film will be produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Saujanya under the Star Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinema, and is scheduled to be released in theaters during Dushar 2026.

The recent success of ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ released in theaters on 25 July may have paved the way for the rise of animated films in the Indian market. The film grossed over Rs 300 crore at the box office worldwide, based on the Narasimha avatar of Lord Vishnu, and is one of the highest grossing Indian films of 2025.

With a slate of films declared in the Mahavatar universe and ‘Vayputra’ is also joining the list, the upcoming year seems promising Indian -made animated films.
