Vanangan sets record of earning Rs 1.25 crore in Tamil Nadu on second day
Vanangan earned Rs 1 crore at the Tamil Nadu box office on its first day (Friday). A day later, the Arun Vijay-starrer saw an increase of Rs 25 lakh in its earnings. On the second day, the Tamil film earned Rs 1.25 crore in the home state.
It has earned Rs 2.25 crore in two days of business in Tamil Nadu.

Vanangan’s dispute with Madraskaran; To face competition with Madha Gaja Raja and others
As far as the Indian box office is concerned, Vanangan clashed with Telugu film, Game Changer and Hindi film, Fateh on Friday. Its rival release Madrasakaran also hit screens on the same day. Other Tamil movies scheduled to release in January, 2025 are Madha Gaja Raja, Nesippaya and Kadhalikka Neramillai. Their release date is falling on Sankranti weekend.
Suriya was initially selected for the lead role in Bala’s film
Talking about Vanangaan, Tamil actor Suriya was earlier supposed to play the lead role in Bala’s directorial debut. However, he later walked out of the film with the director citing mutual agreement after changes in the story.
The occasion of Pongal may help the film increase its domestic business in the coming days. Let’s wait and see.
