A 19-year-old man in Tampa, Florida, killed his parents at their home and shot an officer during a shootout that was captured on the wounded deputy’s bodycam. Authorities in the US have released bodycam video of the shootout with the teen, who was also shot.

According to the New York Post, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Christos Alexander Themelis shot his 51-year-old father, Christos Byron Themelis, inside the home, and then shot his 48-year-old mother, Rebecca Ann Themelis, on the front lawn just after 11 p.m. Sunday.

Officers arrived at the home after receiving a “panicked” call to the 911 emergency number from Rebecca Ann Themelis, who told the operator that her son had shot her husband.

Footage posted on Facebook shows that when officers arrived at the home, they asked the woman to walk to them. But when she was on the lawn, the teen shot her in the back of the head. He then opened fire on officers.

Just before opening fire, a deputy can be heard yelling at the teen, “Stop grabbing your waistband.”

In the shootout, 26-year-old Deputy Shane McGough was shot in the leg. McGough was taken to a local hospital after being given life-saving measures. He is in stable condition, officials said.

Warning: Video contains extreme visuals. Caution advised.

According to bodycam footage, McGough was shot, after which he said, “I’m shot.”

During the firing, Themelis was also shot and four other policemen were injured along with him. After being badly injured, he crawled into the house and locked himself inside.

Chronister said the sheriff’s SWAT team entered the home shortly afterward and found Themelis and his father dead from gunshot wounds, the New York Post reported.

Themelis is believed to have died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
