Trupti Dimri gained recognition for her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The 2023 film starring Ranbir Kapoor achieved commercial success but divided opinions, with critics accusing it of endorsing toxic masculinity. In a recent interview, Trupti shared that she never considered the film as “anti-feminist” as it was a big film for her. He also revealed that his connect with the characters of Kaala and Bulbul inspired him to do both the projects.

In a recent interview with Filmfare, Trupti Dimri answered questions about her decision to work in a film that was termed “anti-feminist” by some after her work in Kaala. She explained that she does not classify films with such labels. Reflecting on his previous projects like Bulbul and Kaala, he shared that his connect with the characters inspired his choice and confidence in the directors.

Speaking about Ranbir Kapoor-led Animal, he revealed that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga provided limited details about the story but focused on explaining his character.

Dimri found the role attractive because it presented an exciting opportunity to explore a different kind of role away from the “good” characters he had played so far.

Trupti further revealed that Vanga’s unique take on her character attracted her. He told her that he saw a mixture of innocence and kindness in her eyes, coupled with a deep sense of determination to achieve her goal – a contradiction he found both challenging and compelling. This, he said, was an important factor in his decision to take on the role.

Additionally, Tripti acknowledged the attraction of working on a big-budget film, as her previous projects like Bulbul and Kaala were smaller in scale. He expressed excitement at the opportunity to learn from the experience and gain insight into how films are made on a larger scale, while still maintaining his passion for the types of projects he has previously worked on.

On the professional front, Trupti Dimri appeared in several films in 2024. She starred opposite Vicky Kaushal in Bad News, worked with Rajkummar Rao for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala video, and shared the screen with Kartik Aryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Next she will be seen in Dhadak 2 opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi.
