The new Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups promo, Ladies and Ladies, has sparked reactions on Instagram, with many users criticizing the portrayal of women. Many also questioned why the film’s female stars had only brief appearances despite the title of the promo.

However, instead of generating excitement, the promo has drawn criticism from a section of social media users, who have accused it of objectifying women and giving very little work to its leading ladies despite centering the promo around them.

The promo stars Yash along with Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. Soon after its release, many users on X expressed their disappointment.
One user commented, ‘Rocking Star Yash postponed the clash. Dhurandhar2Only to come to this? Are you giving teasers dedicated to women or objectifying them..and worst of all, giving them the most idiotic dialogues to show girls coloring for d**creed fame? Is it too much to ask for another I’ll be back? #toxic(sic).”
Another user wrote, “The teaser is titled Ladies and Ladies, but all the female actresses are present in the blink of an eye, wow!”
Another wrote, “There’s the male gaze. And then there’s the latest #Toxic teaser. That last scene… It’s really disturbing that someone actually wrote it, cleaned it up and even shot it!”
Another user commented, “Ladies & Ladies teaser seems to ooze unnecessary negativity more than entertainment. The vibe is forced, the conflict looks exaggerated, and the BGM seems average, the teaser fails to generate excitement. Hopefully something better will be introduced in the movie. #ToxicTheMovie (sic).”
Another wrote, “After Animal this South Industry is trying hard to make every movie with sex and violence but every time they failed. #Toxic teaser is 100% gross.”





Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups It stars Yash along with Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi.
The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will also be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
