Just a few days after a stunning public struggle with US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office, Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelanski today underlined that he wanted to “make things right” with Trump and work under his “strong leadership” to secure a permanent peace in Ukraine.
“In Washington, in the White House on Friday, the way it should have been done, it did not go into the way it is. It is a time to make things correct. We want to make future cooperation and communication creative,” Mr. Zelancesi posted on X in his first public comments as Trump had stopped American military aid for Ukraine.
Russia stated that the suspension of US-Ukraine aid was “best contribution” to peace, Kremlin’s spokesman Dimitri Peskov said, this was a “solution that could actually push the Kiev rule for a peace process”.
Any disruption in the flow of American arms in the front line will rapidly weaken Ukraine’s opportunity to bring back Russia’s invasion.
“None of us want an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the conversation table as soon as possible to bring permanent peace closer. Nobody wants more peace than Ukrainian. My team and I are ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership, which is to achieve a peace,” said Mr. Zelanceci.
The US and Russian authorities have interacted to end the war, which has been sidelined by Kiev and Europe, and inspiring the apprehensions that any deal may threaten the future of Ukraine.
“We are ready to work rapidly to end the war, and the release of prisoners in the first stages and the restrictions on the trussians – missiles, long -lasting drones, energy bombs and other citizens bombs on infrastructure – and immediately the sea, if Russia would like to pursue the same fast.
Mr. Zelancesi again underlined the support of America in maintaining his freedom.
“We really give importance to how much the US has done to help Ukraine to maintain its sovereignty and freedom. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provides Ukraine with a spear. We are grateful for this,” said Mr. Zelancesi.
He also said that Kiev was ready to sign a deal “at any time and in any convenient format” Ukraine’s natural resources and minerals.
The deal was to be given ink in Washington last week before Mr. Zelansky was taken out of the White House after a public line with Mr. Trump.
