In an interview with Filmfare in 2016, Priyanka Chopra was asked about her reaction if she ever caught her husband cheating. In response to this, the actress said that cheating on someone here and there and whether a girl wants to accept her partner after sleeping with someone is a personal thing.

During the same conversation, the actress highlighted the “double standards” and how men always get away with infidelity. He commented that his problem stems from the fact that when men cheat they are called “players, charmers, and it’s all forgiven”, but women are called “sluts”.
The actress confidently condemned infidelity in relationships and said it should never be accepted. He questioned whether signing a paper makes a marriage more important than the heart one has for another. Desi Girl said that one should have the courage to confess one’s feelings for someone else to one’s partner and not “take away their pride.”
Relating the situation to her character of Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani, she emphasized why the role was important to her. He was quoted as saying, “This is cowardice of you. Don’t be a coward. Come out and confess, give them respect because you have been in a relationship with that person, no matter what.”
