Irrfan Khan, who was last seen in Angrezi Medium, is remembered as one of the finest actors in the world. Late actor Irrfan worked in films like Paan Singh Tomar, Maqbool, Talwar, The Namesake, The Lunchbox, Life of Pi, Haider and many more. The famous actor once praised Aamir Khan’s approach towards his film business and believed that the superstar has set an example in the Hindi film industry.

During his appearance on Komal Nahta’s show on Etsy Bollywood, Irrfan Khan shared that he respects Aamir Khan for how fair the superstar is in the film business.

“I respect Aamir Khan so much, I respect him so much. I think he has set an example. (I respect Aamir Khan a lot. He has set an example) the kind of fairness he brings to the business. “I have only heard his stories, I don’t know him personally,” Irrfan said.

When asked if an actor should also be a businessman, the Paan Singh Tomar star nodded and highlighted how an actor should have business savvy. Irrfan explained why an actor should know how much the producer is earning and if the latter is not getting profit then the actor should not get it either.

The Angrezi Medium actor said that he always wanted his films to do good business, which would bring profit to the producers and he would get his share without having to request for it. Irrfan believed that when he got money from the success of his films, then the producers should also earn, otherwise he would not be happy with his earnings.

The late star further said that he wants to set an example like Aamir because he believes that an actor like him feels happy with this kind of business. Irrfan shared that he will not be satisfied if his producers are in loss and have money in their pockets. He said that the Maqbool actor would be proud of himself if someone earns money from his name.

For those unaware, Irrfan Khan and Aamir Khan have never collaborated for any film in their respective careers in Hindi cinema. On the work front, Irrfan graduated from the National School of Drama in 1987. A year later, she made her Bollywood debut in Mira Nair’s Oscar-nominated film, Salaam Bombay! He played a small role in Nair’s 1988 directorial debut.

In 2018, Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. He received his treatment in the United Kingdom and returned to India after a year. Irrfan was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in 2020 after suffering from colon infection. He died on 29 April the same year. The actor is survived by his wife, writer Sutapa Sikdar, and two sons, actors Babil Khan and Ayaan.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was last seen in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022. The film was an official remake of the Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump. He most recently this year co-produced his ex-wife, director Kiran Rao’s Missing Ladies, which has been selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars 2025.

Aamir is now preparing for the film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ being directed by RS Prasanna. The superstar is reuniting with his Taare Zameen Par co-star Darsheel Safary after 17 years. Genelia D’Souza also plays an important role in the upcoming film.
