Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are one such B-Town couple who are making a lot of headlines these days. On several occasions, they have been seen coming apart, leading fans to speculate that there is trouble in paradise. Amidst such rumours, we came across an old video in which the actor can be seen lashing out at people who said that Aish is just about good looks and has no talent.
During a throwback chat with BBC Asian Network, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan talked about their relationship, their film careers and everything in between. This came after Junior Bachchan said that some people expressed that the diva is only about good looks and ‘she is very plastic’.
Speaking his mind, the Housefull 3 actor supported his wife by saying, “Actually if you go see, and now I am not speaking like a husband, I am a co-star and an actor. I am speaking. He has done some of the most daring types of roles that an actor who was basically known only for his beauty could do.
She further said that Aishwarya is the least vain about her looks as she has done films like Provoked, Choker Bali, Raincoat and Guru, most of which focus not on her beauty but on her talent.
After Abhishek and Aishwarya arrived separately at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding at the Jio World Convention Center on July 12, fans speculated that the couple might be headed for divorce. While the Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna actor arrived with Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda, the beauty queen was seen with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
But soon after this, Abhishek put an end to all the rumors by showing his wedding ring in front of the media. During a conversation with Bollywood UK media, the refugee debutant said, “I have nothing to say to you all about that (rumors). Sadly, you all have blown the whole thing out of proportion. I understand why you do it. You have to enter some stories. It’s okay, we’re celebrities, we have to take it. Still married, sorry.”
