Here’s what happened in: Welcome to Derry Episode 4

The It: Welcome to Derry Episode 4 focuses on a psychic search led by Dick Halloran, who uses his ability called Shine to access Taniel’s memories. Taniel is part of the group that protects information about Pennywise and guides Dick through a series of memory gates.

One memory shows Rose teaching Taniel about the Gallu, a creature from indigenous stories associated with the Western Woods. The flashback connects directly to the creature’s first arrival in Derry, as described by Stephen King in the original novel. Galu is revealed to be Pennywise, an ancient entity who fell to Earth from another world.

Indigenous groups escaped by escaping to the creature’s land and created a blade from the meteorite that brought it to Earth. He later creates thirteen pieces from the meteorite to trap Pennywise inside the dairy. The show worked with Indigenous consultants when creating this story.

Episode 4 ends with Tannielle revealing the location of the meteorite fragments, and telling Dick to follow the tunnels down to the old well. The memory depicts the Neibolt Street house, which leads directly to Pennywise’s sewer lair. This means the Legion now knows how to reach Pennywise, setting up major activities in Welcome to Derry Episode 5.
